Vlak boven Oslo ligt Frognerseteren.

FrognerseterenThe city of Oslo is one of the largest cities in europe with one of the lowest number of occupants. It was first built in… blah, and during the war, blah blah…Sorry, there is a lot of interesting history in the capitol, but that’s not really why you’re on this site, is it?Oslo is truly beautiful! And during the summer, with temperatures of up to 35 degrees celsius and not much rain it is a good place to be.Apart from the kings palace, the park with Wigelands famous sculptures and the fiord, Oslo also has a subway called “T-Bane” which takes you all over the city, and, most importantly for us, up to the forest where the trails are, but not only that, you can ride down the trails and get back on the T-Bane up to the top of the trails again!Obviously this has made freeriding very popular in Oslo, and trails have popped up all over the area.As of 2006 the trails are built by riders for riders, (hopefully in the future the state will help us with the building and renovation) so, though they’re are not exactly Whistler-esque, they are good. Lots of pure, natural singletrack, some berms, a fair bit of North Shore style bridges and ladders, but mostly singletrack. Some people might say real freeriding! You can ride where you want, basically, piecing together the different trails, or riding down to different T-Bane stations, and when you’re finished you van ride all the way down to the centre of town for a meal or after-bike beer. The T-bane goes from six in the morning to one at night and costs NoK 60,- for 24 hours (30,- for your bike). There are also week and month passes.Take Line (Linje) 1 Frognerseteren from any of the stations in the centre of Oslo (or be prepared to change), and stay on all the way to the last station. Get off, and ride either left or right off the platform… basically follow the bike tracks, or riders. Get on the T-Bane again at Midtstuen or Skådal. Repeat.
