Tijdens het Adidas Slopestyle weekend heeft Niels Windfeldt de Goaßking Dirt Jam wedstrijd gewonnen. Na een indrukwekkende serie superman variaties, tailwhips en uiteindelijk een Superman-tailwhip, beloonde de jury de Noor met een eerste plek, € 750,00 én na geit Timo en geit Cameron, huist geit Niels nu ook in de Goaßstall.

KONA Rider Niels Windfeldt really showed ’em …

Niels Windfeldt from Norway certainly made his mark at the Adidas Slopestyle that was held in Saalbach from June 16th-18th. Like every year in Saalbach, the traditional Goaßking took place in the evening hours before the finals of the international contest. This time it was a Dirt Jump session on the “Goaßking” Monster.

The highly motivated riders were allowed three jumps each to show what they’ve got. The spectators really got something for their money. Niels Windfeldt was the one who convinced the judges most, showing Superman Tailwhips and huge superman indians, leaving riders like Mr. Frontflip Lance McDermott and Greg Watts (Flip X-up) behind in the comp.

Beside 750 Euros in prize money, the twenty-year-old KONA rider also won a goat, which now wears a collar bearing his name. So Niels Windfeldt is the new Goaßking and took over the title from the last years’ winners Timo Pritzel (Goaßking ‘04) and Cameron McCaul (Goaßking ’05).

Niels Windfeldt, who is promoting the brand new Fizik apparel for the first time this year, which is only being presented officially at the Eurobike 2006, and also rides for Adidas Eyewear, was delighted with this performance: “Winning the Best Trick Contest at an event of such international significance as the Adidas Slopestyle is really cool. I didn’t expect to win because the other riders were riding like crazy, too! ”

Unfortunately, Niels injured himself the next day in the qualifying round of the Adidas Slopestyle, so he was only able to follow the contest as a spectator.

Not to worry, though: the Norwegian Viking will be fit again for the Red Bull District Ride in Catania (15-16 July) so he can show the top freeriders what else he’s got and trick it hard with the rest of the world’s best riders.
