Hier haar verhaal.
World Cup #3 Willingen, Germany
Willingen was a great success this year. We even raced in dry conditions in the weekend as it finally stopped raining! My family and sponsors came out to see me race…. which is always cool.
The 4-cross course was the same as last year. This course is fun to ride. I was not so satisfied with my qualifying run, I qualified 4th but I felt I needed to ride more aggressive. First round went good without any problems. The semi-final was a tough race with Jill and Melissa in there. My gate was good from the outside lane.
That win in the semi got me motivated for the finals. The final was between Jill, Katrina, Tara and me. I had a good gate from the outside lane again, but just not good enough to hit the first turn in first. I had nowhere to go in the first turn. So I had to try my best to get around the other girls but that was hard. Although I finished 4th I felt we displayed some good racing this weekend.
After the late 4-cross racing on Saturday night, Downhill practice started at 8 in the next morning again. My training was going good on the Downhill. This course has a lot of jumping to it, and that is something I really enjoy. I qualified well in 7th place. For the final run I knew I was not allowed to make any mistakes. I had a good run and was able to do the big jump at the end. I was 8 sec. faster than my qualifying run and that was good enough for a 7th place finish this weekend. Next goal is to get some more of these top 10 finishes.
Thanks to all my sponsors and all the people that came to Willingen and cheered me on!!
Greetings,
Anneke Beerten
